Maharaja
Adhiraj Rajaraam addresses
global Victory Day celebration, 28 September 2009: 'Victory over
ignorance, non-truth, boundaries'

(28 September 2009) During the global celebration of Victory Day on 28
September 2009, Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam, First Ruler of the Global
Country of World Peace, gave a beautiful address, speaking on the live
webcast from MERU, Holland.
Victory Day, the auspicious day of Vijaya Dashmi in the Vedic Calendar,
is one of 12 yearly festivals to be held globally, inspired by Maharishi
Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country of World Peace, to declare
the invincibility of every nation.
Following the traditional Vedic recitations by Vedic Pandits at the
Global Capital of World Peace at the Brahma-Sthan (auspicious
geographical centre) of India and in MERU, Raja Harris Kaplan, Raja of
Invincible India for the Global Country of World Peace, invited Maharaja
to give his blessings to the celebration
Raja Harris explained that, in bestowing this title on Maharaja Adhiraj
Rajaraam, Maharishi was aligning Maharaja and his administration with
the eternal administration of the universe, and also was honouring and
expressing his trust in Maharaja.
Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam began by explaining that victory over
darkness, victory over ignorance, victory over non-truth, victory over
boundaries, is a reality that is being celebrated today, and that
victory has never been assumed, given, and presented on such a scale in
the history of mankind as Maharishi has given to the world today.
'That victory can be celebrated in every moment in one's life,' Maharaja
said, 'on the small scale of one's individual reality, and the scales of
one's society, one's nation'—but also, he said, as Maharishi's knowledge
and programmes are accomplishing throughout the world, 'on the highest
scale of the entire world's consciousness, enlivening it in the entire
universe.
'When we think of that victory today and we celebrate it, we are really
seeing its value beyond even what is bad and what is good. It is beyond
the perception of any limited value of understanding.
'The victory is truly a victory of Wholeness over the point—Wholeness
accepting the point, being made out of infinite points—and at the same
time, enlivening and awakening its own reality in every point. That is
why that victory is beyond even the understanding of what is good, or
limited good; or what is bad, or limited bad; or big bad, or big good.'
Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam then explained that the supreme values of good
and bad, and the desire for the supreme good or bad, are embodied in the
Vedic Literature—by Arjuna as the exemplary aspect of the supreme good,
in the Bhagavad-Gita; and by Ravana as the supreme level of bad, in the
Ramayana.
He explained that the value of the victory in both the Mahabharata* and
Ramayana, and the ultimate teaching of the supreme Master or Guru
[spiritual teacher] who brings the light from darkness in the
Mahabharata and in all of the Vedic Literature, were one and the same in
Krishna in the Bhagavad-Gita and in Ram in the Ramayana.

Wholeness, Totality -
'That is the Victory being celebrated today'
(29 September 2009) Continuing his address
to the celebration of Victory Day, Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam, First
Ruler of the Global Country of World Peace, explained that in the
Bhagavad-Gita, Krishna says something very simple to Arjuna:
Nistrai-gunyo bhav Arjuna.* At the end of all of Krishna's teaching in
the Bhagavad-Gita, Arjuna says to him, Smritir labdha, 'I have regained
my memory.'
Arjuna remembers who he is, he remembers himself; he remembers that he
is truly unbounded pure Being, unattached. He is one and the same with
those he is fighting in the battle [in the Bhagavad-Gita, between those
embodying righteousness and those embodying evil].
Arjuna realizes that there is nothing other than himself, Maharaja
Adhiraj Rajaraam explained, and that 'all that is being experienced and
being lived is an illusion of some level of perception—the point of view
where there is difference: there is good, there is bad; there is
transformation, there is evolution, there is growth; there is something
that prevents evolution, prevents growth; there is a challenge to
evolution, a challenge to growth.
'All of this has to come into place,' Maharaja continued. 'It has to be
enacted, it has to be gained, it has to be strengthened from the level
of Wholeness into Wholeness, into greater and greater Wholeness—until
Totality, absolute unboundedness, is achieved. That is the victory that
is being celebrated today.'
Maharaja then explained that in the Ramayana there is the perception of
bad: Ravana wants to prevent the Rishis** from performing their Yagyas.***
He sends his representatives into the forest to create noise and disturb
the Rishis' performance of action in accordance with Natural Law, 'so he
is the non-Natural Law,' Maharaja said.
In the Bhagavad-Gita, 'Arjuna's action is fully in accordance with
Natural Law; and here [in the Ramayana] is action fully against Natural
Law—to prevent Nature from performing its expansion, to prevent Natural
Law from taking its natural course of evolution and growth.'
The value that is full of itself challenging Natural Law [Ravana] is
what we call total bad, Maharaja said. 'But ultimately, when Raam
removes that ignorance, that side of Ravana, we find that it's also part
of total Natural Law. Indeed, when we look deeply in the Ramayana,
Ravana had a role to play in order to create a new phase of evolution. .
. .'
'Today's victory, therefore, is the victory of truth over non-truth; the
victory of enlightenment over ignorance; the victory of unboundedness,
infinity, over point values—perception of oneself as being a point, as
being a reality that is limited, whether one is acting in good or in
bad. And of course, good is better than bad. It helps us on the path of
evolution.
'It's not to compare the two or make them equal in any way, but just to
take our attention to the enlightenment that Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has
given to the world. It was so beautifully said by Maharishi, that peace
is not an endeavour; it's not a process that one has to struggle with,
or fight for, or make a cause of one's life. Peace is something that
comes from a simple, natural reality of existence in tune with Natural
Law, by enlivening Wholeness in one's life—and then all the other
aspects come as part of the natural, normal existence of a human being
or a society.' |

Awakening Totality in individual life
and in the entire world
(30 September 2009) Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam,
First Ruler of the Global Country of World Peace, continued his
beautiful address during the live webcast from MERU, Holland of the
global celebration of Victory Day, 28 September 2009.
Illustrating his discourse with examples from the timeless wisdom of the
Vedic Literature (in particular the Ramayana and the Bhagavad-Gita),
brought to light by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country
of World Peace, Maharaja had previously explained that one must
transcend, go beyond all boundaries and limitations to experience
Wholeness—and that was the Victory being celebrated on Victory Day.
He went on to say, 'That victory of Maharishi, victory of Raam [in the
Ramayana], victory of Krishna [in the Bhagavad-Gita], victory of the
total Vedic Tradition, victory of Guru Dev, is something that Maharishi
has given even to the person who first comes to learn Transcendental
Meditation.
'They close the eyes, and having been all in boundaries, knowing nothing
but boundaries, nothing but my little self—''I am doing, I am the doer,
I am this, I am that''—and I is a small I, very small I, very narrow I,
very narrow perception. Suddenly the person closes the eyes and finds a
total new reality.
'Even . . . starting to transcend, there is an expansion of the sense of
the self as being a narrow reality; the sense of the Self as a more
enveloping, more enclosing, more integrated, more comprehensive aspect
of Natural Law. That already is the victory of today that we are
celebrating,' Maharaja said.
'Therefore that victory has been, and is celebrated every moment by
everyone who goes back to the Self (through Transcendental Meditation).
Go back to the silent, inner, deep pure Self, and then you gain victory
over any sense of boundary; any sense of limitation; any sense of
isolation, of separation—which are the cause of all fears, all worries
and anxieties, and therefore of all action that is not in accordance
with Natural Law.' These also, Maharaja said, are 'the basis of one
small individual challenging Natural Law, like Ravana [in the Ramayana].
'He is a big individual,' Maharaja said, 'it is a big battle, but he is
a big point. It can be a huge point, but still it is a point, limited in
its perception. He did all the Tapas [spiritual practice]; he did all
the activities, and he gained power, he gained energy. Yet his
perception, that I and I and I, which is the small I, has made out of
him a problem for the entire evolution of the course of Nature to take
itself—and [ultimately] allow Nature to live, to give the chance for
everyone to live Heaven on Earth.'
Maharaja pointed out that 'what Maharishi has done, is to truly give
that day of Victory to be celebrated every day—every minute in one's
life on an individual level. And then, having completed his work,
Maharishi has created a structure and a system to allow this to happen
on the scale of the entire world: to enliven, to awaken the sense, the
reality, the experience, the knowledge of Wholeness, of Totality in
every individual life, and on the cosmic level for all generations to
come—to truly bring Heaven on to Earth—so that whichever point is
available is awake in its sense of Wholeness.
'The beauty of it is as if Wholeness has now multiplied itself in so
many millions and billions and infinite numbers of different points—and
therefore Wholeness itself is now many Wholenesses,' Maharaja Adhiraj
Rajaraam said.
'Of course, it's a way of speech,' Maharaja said, 'a way of
presentation, but that's the joy of the Absolute that sees and allows
itself; that's the joy of the Creator that wants itself, its Wholeness,
to be Wholeness, which is infinite—not only in its unbounded reality,
but in its ability to perceive itself, to experience itself in so many
infinite numbers of outer ways, into points and points and points. We
see Wholeness, Wholeness, Wholeness, and that is the beauty of it.'

Awakening Wholeness
through
all of Maharishi's programmes
Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam, continued to unfold
his theme of awakening of Totality in individual life and in the entire
world through the knowledge and programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's
Vedic Science—the supreme values of life which are being enlivened in
India and offered to every country in the world.
Maharaja's discourse, using examples from the Mahabharata and the
Ramayana in the Vedic Literature, was part of his beautiful address to
the global celebration of Victory Day on 28 September 2009.
Both the Mahabharata and the Ramayana, Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam said,
illustrate that the point can suddenly believe itself separate from
Wholeness. That, he said, is the story of Maharishi in the world—to
bring the awareness back to the true reality, from the ignorance of
[incomplete] perception or illusion.
'It's a very tremendous awakening,' Maharaja said, 'and on this great
day, it's beautiful to see that Maharishi has given us that structure
which is so perfect, where we have the Vedic Pandits in India and
different parts of the world, and hopefully soon in every country of the
world. [The Vedic Pandits are] blessing the world with that perfect
knowledge of life which awakens, from the sound level and from the
consciousness level, all Natural Law, the totality of Natural Law,
Wholeness, to be lived in the life of every individual.'
Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam honoured 'all the great leadership in
India—Raja Harris Kaplan,* Dr Girish Varma, the Raj Rajeshwaris involved
in India', and others. He recognized all those in India who are taking
care of the Vedic Pandits, the Vaidyas [expert physicians of Maharishi
Ayur-Veda], and the Jyotishis [experts in Vedic Astrology, Maharishi
Jyotish], and all the different specific aspects of Maharishi's Vedic
Science that contribute, from different angles, to enlivening that value
of Wholeness.
Maharaja spoke of awakening Wholeness from all these different
angles—'be it on the physiological level; be it on removing something
that went wrong in the planetary timing and conditions for one
individual or the other, for one society or the other—bringing the
awareness of the relationship between the individual and Wholeness;
bringing the awareness of the individual between the living condition
and Maharishi Sthapatya Veda [Vedic Architecture in accord with Natural
Law]; and the importance of Wholeness on that level where we are one
with the universe and there is an order and structure to the universe.'
Maharaja said that all of these supreme values of life are being
enlivened and awakened in India, with the support of all the great
leaders there who have been focused on these programmes, and on offering
them throughout the world.

The
perfect structure to understand this supreme
knowledge in the most systematic way
(4 October 2009) Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam,
First Ruler of the Global Country of World Peace, concluded his address
to the global celebration of Victory Day on 28 September 2009.
He continued on his theme, developed further in the previous part, of
awakening of Totality in individual life and the entire world through
the knowledge and programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Vedic
Science—the supreme values of life which are being enlivened in India
and offered to every country.
Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam went on to say that this is the perfect
structure Maharishi established, to ensure that everyone can understand
this supreme knowledge in the most systematic way.
He expressed his 'great joy to acknowledge, thank, and honour our great
Raj Rajeshwaris, Rajas, Ministers [of the Global Country of World
Peace], and all the Directors and Teachers [of Transcendental Meditation
in every country]—who are very alert to make sure that this victory is
lived and known by every individual on this planet, and the whole cosmic
reality of living daily life, and life as a whole. They are absolutely
on top of the world, it's so beautiful.'
The Rajas, Raj Rajeshwaris, and Ministers, Maharaja said, are bringing
enlightenment to every field and 'upholding the knowledge to make sure
that it is presented to the world in a language that the world
understands—in a systematic way, in a complete way, and in the way
Maharishi has wanted it, because our experience has been that this is
the best way to do it.
'For us, this is the only way to do it. Others might have different
perceptions, but we have had that knowledge that has given us fullness
on the level of our feeling, on the level of our experience, on the
level of our intellect, from a scientific perspective, according to any
language—the language of science, the language of philosophy, the
language of art, the language of any field of reality.
'Maharishi has enlivened, awakened, and shown the Wholeness of life, the
interconnectedness of life from whatever way you like to look at it. He
has shown that art is science, that science is spirituality, that Heaven
is earth, and that every point is total Wholeness.
'We enjoy that victory and wish it for every individual and every
society. We feel infinitely grateful to Maharishi, Guru Dev,* and the
Vedic Tradition for this blessing, and commit ourselves again and again
to be true to his teaching and to fulfil his desire for the creation of
Heaven on Earth.'
Maharaja expressed his gratitude to everyone for participating in the
grand celebration of Victory Day, and for 'being together a joyful
family that is creating a world full of bliss'.

Business institute, national media feature
Transcendental Meditation
for health and executive performance in Syria
(17 September 2009) Development of total brain functioning through the
Transcendental Meditation Technique was the subject of business seminars
which took place last month in Syria's major cities—Damascus, Homs, and
Aleppo. Titled 'Brain fitness for peak executive performance', the
seminars were hosted by a leading business development institution. The
seminars were very well received, and will be repeated for young
entrepreneurs.
Syria has three active Teachers of the Transcendental Meditation
Programme. Syria's first centre for the Transcendental Meditation
Programme was inaugurated on 7 July, and since then there has been a
great wave of interest in the programme. In addition to articles in
magazines and newspapers, the national television recently featured the
health benefits* of the Transcendental Meditation Technique for older
men, and plans to do two features on Consciousness-Based Education this
month.

United Arab Emirates:
Special advanced courses of
Transcendental Meditation Programme
offered first time
(14 September 2009) A team of 10 teachers of Transcendental Meditation
has been teaching in the United Arab Emirates for two years, steadily
working to bring invincibility to their country and enjoying wonderful
progress.
Vedic experts have now arrived and will be teaching Advanced Techniques
of Transcendental Meditation for the first time, as well as Maharishi
Vedic Vibration Technology, and a Transcendental Meditation Sidhi
Programme Refresher Course. These courses will all be offered in the
next couple of weeks in Dubai, for those practising the Transcendental
Meditation Programme from all over the Gulf region.
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's knowledge has been very enthusiastically
received at advanced meetings for those practising the Transcendental
Meditation Programme. The Global Mother Divine Organization* has also
been bringing great inspiration, holding similar meetings especially for
ladies.
The president of one large university, who is very enthusiastic about
the Transcendental Meditation Programme, has made it available on an
optional basis to all the students and faculty; they are all being
encouraged to learn the technique.
Raja Peter Warburton, Raja of the United Arab Emirates for the Global
Country of World Peace, recently described these and 'many other
wonderful possibilities for invincibility' rising in the country.
Speaking on 12 September,** he explained that every institution
established in the United Arab Emirates has to be sponsored by a Sheikh,
one of the leaders of society. One Sheikh, who is very enthusiastic
about introducing Transcendental Meditation in education, has drafted a
proposal to the government for a trial programme in a high school that
has about 2,000 students. Once they have learned the technique, and
begun the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme including
Yogic Flying, this group would be sufficient to create invincibility not
just for the United Arab Emirates but for the whole Gulf region, Raja
Peter said.
Dr Fred Travis will be visiting the country in two months and will be
giving many top-level presentations to university, business, and
government leaders—about ideal brain functioning as the basis of good
health and success in life.
Dr Don Brennan, a leading Ayurvedic physician in Great Britain, will
also be visiting to give presentations on Maharishi Ayur-Veda health
care.
A very positive article on Transcendental Meditation was recently
published in Time Out magazine for the United Arab Emirates, Raja Peter
said, noting that a new website for Maharishi's programmes in the region
will be online soon.

New brain research
on Transcendental Meditation:
The potential to make 'any child a champion'
(7
September 2009) Dr Guy-Paul Gagné has been leading the way in presenting
Consciousness-Based Education to school principals, teachers, and
students across Canada, along with Dr Ashley Deans. Dr Gagné has also
produced a 17-minute DVD presentation about new research on brain wave
integration and its application in education.
Dr Gagné is well known and esteemed throughout Canada, both as a great
leader of the Transcendental Meditation organization, and as a medical
doctor and Professor of Medicine at McGill University. He is Canada's
National Director of Health for the Global Country of World Peace.
'It is phenomenal, the gift that Dr Gagne has of transforming the
understanding of a school principal or faculty,' said Raja Paul Potter,
Raja* of Invincible Canada for the Global Country of World Peace,
introducing Dr Gagné on 2 September** on the Maharishi Channel. Raja
Paul was present with Dr Gagné at recent presentations in Montreal.
Dr Gagné commented that since Raja Paul's visit to Canada in the spring
and early summer, 'it seems that all the doors are opening for
Consciousness-Based Education'.
Dr Gagné and Raja Paul spoke at a private school with few school
problems and a low student-teacher ratio, about new research by Dr Fred
Travis on developing a high level of brain integration through
Transcendental Meditation. The principal and some teachers have learnt
the technique and are planning to introduce the programme to the whole
school. Two other schools have now introduced Consciousness-Based
Education.
Dr Gagné made several presentations with Dr Travis earlier this year in
Montreal and Halifax. They presented live demonstrations of EEG
brainwave coherence during Transcendental Meditation, in meetings with
government officials in the rehabilitation system and with well-wishers
of peace and invincibility for Canada.
During these presentations Dr Gagné realized even more clearly that Dr
Travis's research 'is a major breakthrough in science' that will propel
widespread recognition of Transcendental Meditation 'as an effective
method—if not the only method—for longtitudinally improving brain
integration'. Dr Gagné said that this research has important
implications not only for brain functioning, but also for human
performance—'because there seems to be a direct correlation between
brain integration and human performance'.
This relationship is 'very appealing', he said; and for Canada as well
as for any other countries, 'it not only makes Transcendental Meditation
useful for children with problems; but it can take any child and make
him into a champion.'
