Maharishi Celebrates 50 Years of
Launches Global Reconstruction Program
Builders, Developers, Financiers (August 3, 2005) His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who 50 years ago founded his worldwide Spiritual Regeneration Movement, this week launched a program for the reconstruction of the entire world. “Everywhere, we find that people are not living in buildings constructed in conformity with Natural Law. As a result, people suffer and experience negativity of so many kinds, not knowing that the design of their home is the cause of their suffering. “Unless everyone begins to live and work in buildings constructed with proper Vastu—utilising Sthapatya Veda, the Vedic knowledge of architecture in harmony with Natural Law—world peace will always remain a big question mark,” Maharishi said. To correct the wrong that has prevailed for centuries, Maharishi’s Global Reconstruction Program for Permanent World Peace is now being initiated in every big city of the world. Maharishi has issued a strong appeal to builders, developers, and financiers in every country to join this programme and start constructing homes, offices, schools, hospitals, and factories in accord with Natural Law. “Everyone will naturally desire to live and work in these fortune-promoting and peace-creating buildings,” Maharishi said. The first stage of Maharishi’s program of global reconstruction is now getting underway with plans to construct ideal Vastu Peace Colonies of a few hundred acres each in the north, south, east, and west of every major city. Golden Jubilee “Guru Purnima” celebrations Maharishi launched this historic initiative during his Golden Jubilee “Guru Purnima” conference which began on 21 July and is still continuing. Presiding over the conference is His Majesty Maharaja Nader Raam, First Ruler of the Global Country of World Peace, along with his 22 Rajas (Administrators) and eight Cabinet Ministers. Over 1500 leaders of Maharishi’s Movement from 58 countries are attending the conference at the Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in Meru, Holland. Guru Purnima is celebrated every year on the full-moon day in July in honour of the eternal tradition of Vedic masters who have safeguarded in its completeness and purity the knowledge of Total Natural Law—the Veda, the Constitution of the Universe—which administers the universe with perfect order.

The safest approach to world peace is through Natural Law Maharishi explained that for peace to be permanent in the world, every country has to be integrated and invincible, and its citizens have to be healthy, wealthy, and wise. “The Global Country of World Peace has developed a program to establish permanent world peace, which fulfils the requirement of both nations and individuals,” Maharishi said. “For this, our main principle is to follow the evolutionary path of Total Natural Law. With the availability of fortune-promoting and peace-creating Vastu housing, and the development of higher states of consciousness through the practice of Transcendental Meditation, its advanced techniques, and Yogic Flying, we will create world peace very quickly.”
Scientific research verifies the efficacy of the programs
Parliaments of Builder to Reconstruct the World Maharishi announced that Parliaments of Builders to Reconstruct the World are now being formed in every country. The Parliaments of Builders are being established on four levels—city, provincial, national, and global—“to quickly achieve the laudable goals of healthy life and world peace,” Maharishi said. A wide gate of peace, prosperity, and happiness for everyone “Through the knowledge of the Veda—the Constitution of the Universe, the Light of God—we have successfully put together modern science, ancient Vedic science, and the pursuit of God realization from all religions, ancient and modern,” Maharishi said. “We feel humble. Our desire is to open a wide gate of peace, prosperity, and happiness to everyone in our dear world through our reconstruction program, along with our programs in education, health, agriculture, and management.” | |

All Builders Invited to Participate in
Builders Will Share “Our Global Reconstruction Program will raise the world’s population from problem-ridden life to problem-free life—life in accord with Total Natural Law—life in enlightenment, perfect health, affluence, invincibility, and peace.” (August 10, 2005) His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has invited all the builders of every nation to reconstruct the world in accord with Natural Law—and to do it simultaneously and quickly. “Time and tide wait for no one,” Maharishi said during his August 3 global news conference. Builders will share one-third of their profit with the National Peace Fund in their country and another third with the International Peace Fund. These funds will be used to construct Peace Palaces in every city and fortune-creating homes for the poor.
To relieve the world of negativity and disharmony, “All developers, builders, architects, engineers, and suppliers of materials—everyone—is fondly invited to uphold this project in their area and achieve the goal as soon as possible by building only ‘Vastu’ buildings—healthy, fortune-creating buildings laid out according the principles of Sthapatya Veda, Vedic architecture in harmony with Natural Law,” Maharishi said. “Builders will be relieving their area from a great amount of negativity and disharmony—problems of health, behavior, and other misfortunes—caused by living and working in buildings without proper Vastu.” (For the advantages and disadvantages of living and not living according to Vastu principles, please see www.GlobalReconstruction.org). Maharishi said that every government has a kind program to construct housing for the poor, but he strongly encouraged governments to construct only Vastu buildings for this purpose. “Governments should never build houses that violate the Vastu principles, because such housing will bring more misfortune and difficulties to those who live in them,” Maharishi said. “Not knowing that violation of Vastu principles in the layout of buildings is the basic cause of many kinds of problems and suffering in life, individuals, societies, and nations are passing time in the waves of suffering.”

Unless people live in Vastu homes, Maharishi explained that it needed a scientific age to probe into the betterment of every area of life, and from that came the conclusion that unless people of the world family live in homes built according to Sthapatya Veda (Vastu), peace on every level—individual and collective—will always remain a question mark everywhere.
Global Reconstruction Program is now being initiated “To correct the wrong that has prevailed for centuries, our program of Global Reconstruction is being initiated in big cities throughout the world,” Maharishi said. “We are inviting developers and builders in major cities of every country to materialize these ‘Fortune-Creating Buildings’ starting with the construction of sample ideal Vastu Peace Colonies of a few hundred acres each in the neighborhood of every major city.” Maharishi said that once the people experience that their problems dissolve and their creativity blossoms as they live in these newly built Vastu homes, then the old cities will be rebuilt very quickly, and developers and builders will fulfill their role of providing more healthy and more fortunate homes for the population.

Examine the Layout of
Improper Layout of a Building Is the
Buildings with Proper Entrances to the East
Builders invited to reconstruct the world to
create (August 24, 2005) His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi this week called on the world press to examine the layout of all government buildings in their countries. A proper entrance to the east will bring harmony and success to the government, Maharishi said, but an improper entrance to the south or west will be the unseen cause of a great deal of governmental problems, unrest, and failures. “People do not know that a greater part of the negative influences in life comes from the wrong layout of the buildings in which they live and work,” Maharishi said. “This is because the direction of the entrance of the office building or residence produces an influence of happiness, harmony, and cordiality—or conflict and problems for the people.” For this reason, Maharishi also called on government leaders to abandon all improperly designed buildings—as if an earthquake had hit the buildings. “These buildings should be immediately rebuilt with a proper layout and orientation to the rising sun in the east, according to the principles of the Vedic knowledge of architecture in harmony with Natural Law—Sthapatya Veda or Vastu Vidya,” Maharishi said. Maharishi cited the Indian government parliament buildings in New Delhi as a prime example of the negative influences produced by an improper layout. “I have been telling the Indian government for the past 20–30 years that the basic cause of their constant fighting is the improper, ‘topsy-turvy’ layout of the Parliament buildings, which are not built in accord with Natural Law—according to the time-tested principles of Sthapatya-Veda,” Maharishi said.
Scientific research documents that the brain fires In response to a press question, Maharishi said that anyone who lives and works in such buildings can verify the effects of proper or improper layout from their own experiences. Maharishi also cited recent scientific research, which documents that brain neurons fire more coherently when an individual faces east than when he faces south or west. “How coherently a man’s brain functions is the basis of how coherently he thinks and behaves,” Maharishi said.

Reconstruction Program to save the people To prevent the negative influences of improper layout, last month Maharishi launched his Global Reconstruction Program and invited builders in every country to begin building in every city Peace Colonies, composed of “fortune-creating” homes, and Peace Palaces, where Maharishi’s Transcendental Meditation and other Vedic-science-based programs will be taught to promote enlightenment for the individual and permanent peace for the world. “Now, with this knowledge, builders can stop building ‘unlucky’ buildings that produce problems and difficulties for the people and instead quickly build ‘fortune-creating’ homes, office buildings, schools, hospitals, and factories in harmony with Natural Law,” Maharishi said. “In this way, builders can eliminate the unseen basis of so many problems.” Maharishi emphasized that his recommendations are based not on manmade architectural principles but rather on eternal Natural Law—the Constitution of the Universe—which administers the infinite diversity of the universe with perfect order. “What we are saying has absolute authority—that means it is true for all times, in every place, and for everyone,” Maharishi said. “Follow our advice and you will be better off” Maharishi concluded by saying that his Global Reconstruction Program is a key element in his program to create Heaven on Earth—life in fulfillment for everyone. “Follow our advice and step into the light—and you will be better off. Or don’t follow our advice, remain in the darkness, and suffer as long as you want. But sometime—tomorrow, the next day, or next year—you will come to the light and enjoy,” Maharishi said.

Abandon All Government Buildings
South or West Entrances Produce
Builders Invited to Reconstruct the World by (August 31, 2005) Government leaders will face fewer conflicts and problems overnight and enjoy greater progress and success when they abandon their improperly laid out government buildings and, instead, live and work in buildings that are laid out according to Vedic architecture in harmony with Natural Law. Families will enjoy greater prosperity and happiness, better health, and improved relations when they move into properly laid out “fortune-creating” Vedic—or Vastu—homes. And builders will make more money—and contribute to the creation of permanent world peace—when they begin reconstructing their cities and countries by building Vastu homes and offices.
The direction that a building faces “People do not know that a greater part of the negative influences in life comes from the wrong layout of the buildings in which they live and work,” Maharishi said. “The direction of the entrance of the office building or residence produces either happiness, harmony, and cordiality or conflict and problems for the people.” Maharishi explained it is easy for anyone to determine whether the layout of his house or building has a good or bad influence. “People can verify it for themselves,” Maharishi said. “If they are living in a building with a south entrance or a west entrance or an entrance that is ‘tilted’ (e.g., southwest or northeast), they will find themselves shrouded in unrest, fears, and problems. Even a beautiful parliament building with In response to a press question, Maharishi emphasized there are no exceptions to the requirement to live and work in a properly laid out building. “Even a beautiful parliament building designed by a famous architect must be demolished if it has a wrong layout—and must be rebuilt according to Vastu Vidya,” Maharishi said. “Otherwise, the minds of the president, prime minister, and his ministers will never be settled—their thinking will always be disorderly and off balance.”

Maharishi’s programs are creating Maharishi concluded by saying that his program to reconstruct the world through Vedic architecture—as well as his Vedic-science-based approaches to education, health care, agriculture, economy, administration, defense, etc.—is creating a Vedic world of peace, prosperity, and happiness for the whole of mankind. “Vedic means ‘full of knowledge,’” Maharishi said. “We are creating a Vedic world—an enlightened world full of knowledge in complete alliance with Total Natural Law. Every country will be peaceful, harmonious, and integrated—and will enjoy true freedom in invincibility. Scientific
research has verified the efficacy of the programs of the Global Country
of World Peace to create a healthy and peaceful life. The benefits of
the programs have been confirmed by over 600 scientific research
studies, conducted at more than 250 universities and research institutes
in 30 countries, and published in more than 100 research journals. These
papers have been reprinted from the journals in seven volumes of
Collected Papers (over 6,000 pages).
